Brighten your spirits and brighten our parks by helping Sausalito Beautiful plant lots of daffodils! We aim to plant over 1,000 yellow and white daffodil bulbs around Dunphy and MLK Parks on two separate community planting days. It’s a great family activity, and we hope it will become an annual tradition.
Signup online for Saturday November 28 or Saturday December 5, from 10am-12pm, 12-2pm, or 2-4pm (separate sessions help ensure social distancing). You’ll want to wear a mask and bring both gloves and a water bottle but we will supply the rest. Hope you can join us! Rain postpones the activities.
We are hoping to have eight people (or small family groups) digging holes with a trowel and planting bulbs for each session. We are also looking for one or two people who will bring their battery-based power drill to help dig holes in really tough soil using a supplied bulb auger (hex drive that fits any 3/8″ or larger drill).
Concerned about Covid?
- All activities will take place outdoors, and all participants will be required to wear masks
- Please bring their own gloves, or we will supply disposables
- Planting spaces during each session will be at least 10’ apart
- Hand sanitizer will be available on-site, but no hand washing station.
This will be an easy, fun and rewarding activity so signup now! Then we just wait for the winter rains along with the April/May sunshine to do their magic. Our two major parks will be brightened with cheery daffodils, which should rebloom for years to come.
