The University of California Marin Master Gardeners (MMG) are a great resource for folks in Sausalito.  They offer classes and on-site consultations along a website full of informative, research-based articles. You’ll find their articles every Saturday in the Marin Independent Journal but the same articles can also be found on-line.  Recent articles include fire-smart landscaping, edible container gardening, soil testing, first steps for summer veggies, and how to choose lavender.
