Marin residents are concerned about climate change but often don’t know what actions to take to make a difference. That’s where Resilient Neighborhoods comes in!
Sausalito Beautiful is proud to highlight Resilient Neighborhoods, which has helped over 800 Marin households reduce over 11 million pounds of CO 2 emissions since it began its climate action workshops in 2012.
The organization was founded by long- time Marin resident and environmental leader Tamra Peters, and is a robust on-line program offering over 100 actions presented in 5 free sessions.
The program is fun and effective because it’s done in teams of households, each going on a ‘low-carbon’ diet to reduce 5,000 pounds of polluting emissions in 10 weeks.
Five, free, facilitated team meetings take place online every other week and cover actions on shopping, waste, water, homeenergy, transportation, emergency preparedness and building a more resilient community.
Sign up yourself and invite a friend, neighbor, coworker, club member or someone from your place of worship. All are welcome on the team and we all are needed to make a difference NOW.
The next free online workshops start March 30 and April 5.
