Sausalito Beautiful is matching $5,000 in donations to help save MLK Academy’s Garden Program for the 2022-23 school year. Donate today to the Rise Up! 94965 Foundation to contribute funds to this invaluable program. As of August 1st, they are just $8,500 away from their $60,000 goal. If just 340 people pitch in $25 each, they will reach their goal! 

MLK Academy’s four gardens, located on their TK-5 and 6-8 campuses, provide hands-on learning for 375 students each week. The $60,000 will go to fund the stipends paid to their two garden coordinators, each of whom teach science through gardening to their students on a weekly basis throughout the school year. They need our help in order to keep their gardens thriving.

Dr. MLK Academy serves a diverse student population in Sausalito and Marin City, California. More than 12 different languages are spoken by their families at home and 66% of their children experience challenges with food and/or housing insecurity. Their school gardens are a highlight of their kids’ school experience and one that they want to continue to provide their students this coming school year.
