SUMMARY:Wildflower Identification with Judy Kramer
DESCRIPTION:Join guest speaker Judy Kramer to learn about what makes local Wildflowers special\, and how you can identify them. \n\n\n\nIn this informative\, virtual talk\, learn how what we enjoy about flowers—scent\, shape\, lines\, color patterns\, etc.— can be used to identify flowers\, and how these features help the flowers attract vital pollinators. Register for this online event on the Environmental Volunteers website. \n\n\n\nAbout the speaker: \n\n\n\nJudy is a local\, award-wining nature photographer living in Palo Alto. She is a past president of the Palo Alto Camera Club and is now a member of Gallery House on California Avenue in Palo Alto. Her work has been published in three books and seen in various local venues. Organizations that use her photos include the California Native Plant Society\, Peninsula Open Space Trust\, North American Nature Photography Association\, and Environmental Volunteers. \n\n\n\nShe has always loved wildflowers\, whether hiking in the Sierra\, the Rockies\, or here at home. So when she started her serious photography life in 2005\, it was a priority to learn to take close-ups of wildflowers and their pollinators. You can see many samples of her wildflower photography on her web site\, www.earthwitnessphoto.com. \n\n\n\n*All photos by Judy Kramer.

SUMMARY:Native Plant Sale: CNPS Marin
DESCRIPTION:The annual plant sale for the Marin Chapter of the California Native Plant Society continues despite the pandemic! Place your orders on-line between March 17-24\, and then pick up your plants on Saturday March 27 between 10:30am and 1:30pm\, in the parking lot of Bon Air Center\, Greenbrae. \n\n\n\nBoth yearly favorites and great new plant choices are available for spring planting. In addition to live plants\, we will also be selling our popular line of locally sourced native seeds. a special focus on important local flowering shrubs that provide resources for pollinators\, birds and other creatures. When we think about providing for pollinators\, bold and beautiful wildflowers might come to mind. Our landscaping shrubs and trees are equally essential\, however\, and provide critical sources of nectar and pollen\, particularly for native bees. Many of these bees emerge early in the spring and depend on the early-blooming shrubs such as manzanita and ceanothus. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, visit the CNPS website.
