Upcoming Green Thumbs Event:
April 8, 9:30 a.m.: Join the Green Thumbs team to mulch the trees around the playing fields at MLK Park and below the dog park. Email greenthumbs@sausalitobeautiful.org to sign up. In October of 2019, the Green Thumbs team planted more than one hundred trees and shrubs around the playing field at MLK Park and below the dog park to beautify Sausalito and help combat climate change. They have been back twice to weed and mulch. It’s now time to do it again! (We will reschedule if it looks like rain.)
April 22, 9:30 a.m.: Join the Green Thumbs team on Earth Day to put in edging and plant some ground cover around the Johnson street trees. (We will reschedule if it looks like rain.)
Winter 2023 Green Thumbs Update
Sausalito Post Office: On February 18th, the Green Thumbs team came together for a mid-winter clean up of the Post Office flower beds. The rain had softened the ground and the cardboard and mulch they had laid down last spring to keep the weeds down. The Green Thumbs team first planted Post Office beds in 2017 and have kept them in shape over the years.
Sausalito Marin City School District, Phillips Campus Garden: On January 16th, the Green Thumbs team helped the garden coordinator, Michelle Bryant, work with a group of kids and parents to mulch, weed and clean up of this amazing school program.
