Sausalito Beautiful is pleased to invite you to the long-awaited grand opening of Southview Park this coming Sunday, September 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be ribbon cutting, live music, food, and sports demonstrations on the basketball, tennis, and pickle ball courts.

Major improvements to the infrastructure in Southview Park began in August 2020 with funding from a variety of sources, including the 2016 Certificates of Participation, Measure O, and funds from California Proposition 68. The renovations included new and repaired retaining walls, regraded and resurfaced tennis and basketball courts, and a new children’s playground.

Sausalito Beautiful and SWA provided a landscape plan by landscape architect Bill Hynes, and our organization participated in a fundraising campaign by Friends of Southview Park in fall 2020 to fund the planting of trees, shrubs, a lawn area, benches, and picnic tables that were installed this fall.

The park has been partially open since June 2021. We are delighted with the installation of site furniture and most of the landscaping and join the City of Sausalito with thanking the many residents who contributed to the park.
